Cybersecurity Career Mentoring Programme Returns for Its Second Year
9 July 2018
To attract tertiary students and young professionals to join or convert to the cybersecurity profession, CSA partnered the Singapore Computer Society (SCS) in mid-2017 to organise the Cybersecurity Career Mentoring Programme. The programme, which is also supported by the Association of Information Security Professionals (AiSP), provides a platform for the students and professionals to receive career guidance from experienced cybersecurity mentors and industry experts. In the first year, the programme saw 160 mentees coached by 44 mentors across four quarterly career mentoring sessions.
In this second year, the programme will kick off with a mentorship session 'Defending Cyberspace – Your Role and Career Opportunity' on 18 July 2018 at the Lifelong Learning Institute. During the session, participants will hear from leading female cybersecurity experts such as Dr Ong Chen Hui, Director of Operation Technology Security, Singtel, who will share about her journey in defending cyberspace. She will then be joined by Ms Edna Yap, Executive Director of Risk Advisory, Deloitte, for a panel discussion on the topic of 'Women in Cybersecurity'. The panel discussion will be moderated by Mr Huang Shao Fei, President of the SCS Infocomm Security Chapter, and Ms Han Sam Lai, President of the International Coach Federation (Singapore Chapter). This will be followed by breakout groups, where participants will have the opportunity to interact with mentors.
Registration for the session ‘Defending Cyberspace – Your Role and Career Opportunity’ has ended.
Look out for the next session in September 2018!
