The theme for SICW 2018 is “Forging a Trusted and Open Cyberspace”, which reflects the importance of a trusted cyber environment that is open to all, given the fast-evolving and complex cybersecurity landscape. Held from 18 to 20 September 2018, events under the SICW umbrella include the ASEAN Ministerial Conference on Cybersecurity (AMCC), GovernmentWare (GovWare) Exhibition and Conference, the Global Forum on Cyber Expertise Annual Meeting 2018, hearings by the Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace, 6th INTERPOL-Europol Cybercrime Conference and the ASEAN Cybercrime Prosecutors’ Roundtable Meeting. SICW 2018 will be launched by Guest-of-Honour, Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore and Co-ordinating Minister for National Security Mr Teo Chee Hean.
Chairing the AMCC will be Singapore’s Minister for Communications and Information & Minister-in-charge of Cyber Security, Mr S Iswaran. The Ministerial Conference will bring together ASEAN Ministers and senior officials from all 10 ASEAN member states for critical discussions to advance cybersecurity cooperation and drive greater cyber capacity building across borders. ASEAN Secretary-General Dato Lim Jock Hoi will also be participating in the discussions.
SICW’s strategic partner, Temasek Foundation Connects, will co-organise an invitation-only CXO Plenary for C-suite leaders from the public and private sectors to discuss key strategic developments in cybersecurity. Another event under this partnership is the by-invitation only SICW Cybersecurity Lecture. Addressing the audience will be Ms Izumi Nakamitsu, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs. Also in its third year is the International IoT (Internet-of-Things) Security Roundtable, which will see experts exchange insights on IoT Security in the areas of principles, governance and legislation; ecosystem development, as well as technical references and standards.
"As a strategic partner of Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA), Temasek Foundation Connects helps bring together leaders and professionals at the Singapore International Cyber Week, and strengthen the collaborative relationships and ecosystems. Held for the first time at SICW this year will be the Global Forum on Cyber Expertise (GFCE) Annual Meeting 2018 and the hearings of the Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace (GCSC). The former is a platform that enables efficient international cooperation in building cyber capacities while the latter will feature discussions between Commissioners, private sector and civil society representatives on matters pertaining to international peace and security in cyberspace.
Showcasing the latest trends, innovations and solutions in cybersecurity, the 27th edition of GovWare will see over 250 participating companies and sponsors including Ensign Infosecurity, Check Point Software Technologies, Cisco Security Systems and FireEye. The exhibition will feature several Pavilions including a Start-up Pavilion in partnership with Innovation Cybersecurity Ecosystem at Block71 (ICE71), showcasing 17 emerging business ventures in cybersecurity; an inaugural Finland Pavilion introducing four Finnish cybertech companies and their expertise in cyber defence; the UK Pavilion which returns this year with six participating companies; and the Singapore Pavilion with its largest participation to date of 22 local companies.
